ALBUM REVIEW : Freedom (EP) - Eric Chou

It's been a while since I last wrote an album review, and a new year means new music to look forward to!
One of my favorite artists, Eric Chou, released a digital EP last Thursday (January 10, 2019), titled Freedom. There are 2 English songs and 3 Chinese songs in the EP. I have been listening to his EP on repeat for several days, and I wanted to share my favorite tracks with you.
Without any further ado, here is the album review.
Old Days - The opener of the EP is a smooth and slick EDM track. It starts off with a groove that conjures up an image of a car cruising on a road trip. The drop right after the chorus is not only catchy, but is also mesmerizing to the listeners' ears.
What's Wrong - The third track is the album's single, and is also my favorite in the entire EP. It is reminiscent of Chinese R&B songs produced in the early to mid 2000s. This song is special as it was first created on a Chinese songwriting/producing competition show that Eric participated in last summer, called Chao Yin Zhan Ji (The Collaboration). Hearing this track brought back memories of watching the show last summer after a busy day at work.
Nobody But Me - The second track of the EP is another EDM track, narrating the story of a man and woman who not only fall in love, but also fall out of love. The music video was shot in London, England. I highly recommend watching the music video as its impressive cinematography will wow both fans and non-fans alike.
At Least I Remember - Eric is known for his trademark ballads, and this song is the perfect example. With poetic lyrics such as "You are the beauty that will never fade away from my eyes", and "Our love has been scattered by the wind, unable to find again", listeners and fans will appreciate the vivid imagery and lyrics from the heart.
