MY FAVOURITE ALBUMS OF 2020

Hi everyone! 

Today, I wanted to round up my top albums for the year of 2020. We can all agree that 2020 was not a great year, but music has helped me get through the insanity of a worldwide pandemic. 

Without any further delay, let's dive into my favourite albums of 2020.

1. DELIGHT (THE 2ND MINI ALBUM) - BAEKHYUN

First up is Baekhyun's second mini album, Delight. As a huge fan of his City Lights EP, I eagerly awaited the release of Delight, which far surpassed my expectations. In contrast to City Lights, the mood set here is more of a chill R&B vibe. My top 3 tracks on this album are: Candy, Bungee, and Love Again.

2. THE BOOK OF US: THE DEMON - DAY6

I've loved the entire The Book Of Us series from Gravity to Entropy, and now The Demon. The comeback trailer video for this album is equal parts intriguing and informative. The title track, Zombie was a hit, both locally in Seoul, and internationally with its relatable sentiments and lyrics. I also enjoyed the tracks: Love Me or Leave Me, Afraid, and Tick Tock.

3. DYE EP - GOT7

This album is particularly special to me as it was my first official comeback as an Ahgase (official fandom of GOT7). When I first saw the teaser trailer and pictures for the title track, Not By The Moon, I was intrigued. And when I first listened to Not By The Moon, I fell in love. The name of the album, Dye alludes to a line in Not By The Moon, which says, "tomorrow will be dyed with you." In this context, the word dye is used to describe how a lover adds colour to someone's life, "dyeing" each other's lives. Honourable mentions also go to: Aura and Love You Better.

4. AWAKEN THE WORLD - WayV

As a Mandarin pop fan since 2008, I've always kept up with Mandarin Pop throughout the years. However, WayV was the first Chinese boy group I truly fell in love with. WayV is NCT's Chinese subunit, under SM Entertainment. I found myself listening to their first full album, Awaken The World repeatedly last year. Oddly enough, it wasn't the title track, Turn Back Time or the equally popular Bad Alive that pulled me in - it was a b-side track called Unbreakable. The boys' chemistry and talent is evident here, especially YangYang and Hendery's songwriting skills. My top 3 tracks on the album are: Unbreakable, Only Human, and Domino .

5. BANDAIDS EP - keshi

I discovered keshi's music in December 2019 through a Youtube video suggestion for his song skeletons. It only took one song, and I was hooked! Since then, I've been an avid fan of his music. I found myself listening to his bandaids EP repeatedly last year, from the day the EP was released. My top 3 tracks for this EP are: Blue (which was released earlier in 2020 as a single), Alright, and Bandaids.
