"A 'Lost' Daughter Speaks, and All of China Listens"

Recently, I've been watching videos about adoption stories, including a documentary titled "Twinsters", by Sam Futerman and her sister Anais Bordier (available on Netflix). After watching these videos, I pondered about the other side - the biological family's side; how giving up a child for adoption has affected them.

Yesterday, I read an article titled "A 'Lost' Daughter Speaks, and All of China Listens". This article is written by Jenna Cook, a 24-year-old girl originally from Wuhan, China who was adopted by the Cooks', a family in the United States. In the summer of 2012, Jenna and her mother traveled to Wuhan, China in search of Jenna's birth parents.

The article was riveting; it revealed the vulnerability of mothers who had no choice but to give up their child for adoption.
