Singer Spotlight: Hui (of Pentagon)

I'd like to start a new series on the blog, called Singer Spotlight. The purpose of this series is to draw attention to talented yet underrated artists - the first of which is Hui (pronounced Hwee) from the Korean boyband, PENTAGON (also abbreviated as PTG).

Hui is the leader of the band PENTAGON, which debuted on October 10, 2016. Although this group is still relatively new in the Kpop/Idol industry, they are a force to be reckoned with.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Hui (Lee Hwi-taek)  was born on August 28, 1993, in Gwacheon, South Korea. In addition to being the leader of PENTAGON, he is one of two main vocalists (the other being Jo Jinho) and lead dancer of the group, under Cube Entertainment.  He was also part of a subunit called Triple H with former member E'Dawn (Kim Hyojong) and solo artist, HyunA.

ARTIST ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Hui is a man of many talents - singer, dancer, lyricist, composer, and music producer. He produced the following songs: Never (for Produce 101 Season 2), Energetic (Wanna One's debut song), and wrote Like Paradise (for artist Kriesha Chu). All three songs have become massively popular hits on Korean music charts.

He has also produced and written songs for his own group, including: You Are, Organic Song, Thank You, When I Was in Love, Like This, Runaway, Shine, and Naughty Boy.

Further, he has contributed to Korean drama OSTs (Original Soundtracks) including:
Who Am I (Bad Guys: City of Evil OST Part 1)
Maybe (About Time OST Part 3)

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Earlier this year, Hui participated in a Korean music show called Breakers. Breakers is a competition where singer-songwriters compete by performing their self-composed songs live. He composed several songs for the competition as listed:
