I've been following an account called Humans of New York, informally known as HONY for a about 2 years now. HONY's photographer, Brandon Stanton delves into the lives of passerby on the streets of New York, thus personifying the word sonder.
Four days ago he interviewed a young man living in Brownsville, Brooklyn, unknowingly sparking a fire that has brought people from all over the world together towards a united goal. Yesterday, Brandon met the woman who has been an influential figure to this young man's life. Her attitude and faith towards these kids has been heartwarming. Here is her interview: https://m.facebook.com/humansofnewyork/photos/a.102107073196735.4429.102099916530784/868248166582618/?type=1&source=46
Since yesterday, Brandon and fans of HONY were able to raise enough money to achieve Ms. Lopez's dreams for her scholars. Here is the post:
Ms. Lopez's final request is that her scholars are also provided with a summer program. Here is the link:
If possible, please donate and if not, please spread the word (:
Have a great day.
